Softball Roundup: Lady Panthers rip Lady Bulldogs

Jett Preather opened the fifth inning with a triple and set the Paradise Lady Panthers on their way to a nine-run inning Friday in a 14-2 win over Alvord.

Preather went 3-for-3 and scored twice. She had two of the Lady Panthers’ seven extra-base hits.

Bailey Higgins homered for the Lady Panthers. Allison Rutledge doubled twice, going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Shelby Lavigne knocked in three runs.

Kandi Rose homered and drove in both runs for Alvord.

Paradise pitcher Reagan Taylor struck out eight and held Alvord to two runs on two hits in five innings.

NORTHWEST 12, HALTOM 1

Kelsey Rhine went 3-for-3 and drove in five runs as the Northwest Lady Texans hammered Haltom 12-1 Friday.

Tuesday DerMargosian homered for the Lady Texans.

Emily Worley held Haltom to one run on five hits over five innings. She struck out seven.

DECATUR 11, GAINESVILLE 9

The Decatur Lady Eagles held off the Gainesville Lady Leopards to win 11-9 Friday.

Alex Gabriel, Kristina Pishotta and Jordan Smith had three hits each for Decatur. Brianna Carter drove in three runs on two hits. Smith and Brittany Roberts collected two RBIs.

KRUM 10, BRIDGEPORT 0

The Krum Lady Bobcats finished off the Bridgeport Sissies 10-0 in five innings Friday.

Krum held Bridgeport to three hits – one each by Cheyenne Davidson, Tabby Rivera and Hailey Hollingsworth.

Krum scored five runs in the third, added three in the fourth and two in the fifth.
