Behind the shooting of Kayler Talamantes on the outside and the work of Caitlin Pruett on the interior, the Slidell Lady Greyhounds kept their share of the District 21-A Division II lead Tuesday.
Talamantes knocked down a career-best four 3-pointers, and Pruett finished one rebound short of a double-double in the Lady Greyhounds’ 48-33 win over Midway.
“Midway is a tough place to play regardless of the team records. Anytime you can come out there with a win, it’s a good win,” said Slidell coach Cody Vanover.
Slidell (12-6, 6-1) shares the league lead with Saint Jo, which knocked off Bellevue Tuesday. Slidell and Saint Jo will play Tuesday at the Pantherdome in Saint Jo.
Pruett poured in 17 points to go along with nine rebounds and five steals. Talamantes finished with 15 points.
“It looks like Kayler is really finding her shot,” Vanover said.
Slidell started the game on an 11-3 run and led 23-9 at the break.
