Volleyball: Sissies fall to Sanger

By Richard Greene | Published Saturday, August 16, 2014

The Bridgeport Sissies struggled to get on track Tuesday against a former district foe.

Sanger swept the Sissies, who were once again without senior middle blocker Jessica White, 25-6, 25-15, 25-11.

Bridgeport fell to 0-2 on the season.

“We played very stiff from the very beginning and never found a rhythm,” said Bridgeport coach Rebekah Cummings. “That, combined with poor ball control, left us with few options both offensively and defensively.”

Kensley Turner led the Sissies with four kills. Ally Raby handed out five assists.

Turner made eight digs defensively. Mariah Leyva and Ally Raby dug four shots each.

Bridgeport began the Burkburnett Tournament Friday, looking for its first win of the season.

“We’ll have several games over the weekend to try some new combinations and find one that works,” Cummings said.
