Sanger beats Bulls

By Richard Greene | Published Wednesday, February 5, 2014

The Sanger Indians buried the Bridgeport Bulls with a strong second quarter Friday to run to a 68-54 victory and keep their hopes alive for a District 9-3A title.

Sanger (16-12) moved to 5-1 in the league and remained a game back of Decatur with a 68-54 win. Bridgeport (11-15) fell to 1-5 in the league but continues to control the fourth and final playoff spot.

Derrick Stanford led Bridgeport with 16 points. Alex Samples added 12.

Dalton Hudson and Stephen Howdeshell put in 11 each.

Bridgeport took on Gainesville Tuesday, and will close the regular season Friday against Krum. The Bulls could lock up playoff spot with a win Friday and could force a tie for third by winning both.
