The Sanger Lady Indians took advantage of second-chance scoring opportunities to hold off the Bridgeport Sissies Tuesday night.
The Sissies (12-7) fell to 0-3 in District 9-3A Tuesday with the 52-38 setback.
Bridgeport fell in a hole to start the game and trailed by 10, 32-22, at halftime.
“We lost the rebounding battle and gave up to many second-chance opportunities throughout the game,” said Bridgeport coach Dallas Taylor. “Foul trouble hurt us early. We had multiple chances to cut the lead in the fourth and never capitalized.”
Gabby Mindieta posted a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Sissies. Lauren Stowers added eight points and eight boards.
Bridgeport looked for its first league win Friday when it headed to Gainesville.
