Rowden wins 2 silvers

Decatur Junior Katey Rowden brought home a pair of second-place finishes at the Keller Dual Saturday.

Rowden swam a 25.71 in the 50 freestyle and 1:01.94 in the 100 butterfly.

Rowden also took part in three relays. She teamed with Allie Blevins, Guirnalda Lopez and Emily Howdeshell to take sixth in the 200 freestyle relay in 1:53.34. She joined Caraline Cowdrey, Baley Phariss and Allie Blevins on the 200 medley relay that finished eighth in 2:08.87.

Blevins took fourth in the 500 freestyle in 6:01.34. Kate Grant was sixth in the 100 backstroke in 1:13.35. Grant finished seventh in the 200 freestyle in 2:23.74, and Howdeshell eighth in 2:28.09.

The Decatur boys relay of Ethan Miles, Trey Dale, Logan Huff and Robert Davila finished sixth in the 200 medley in 2:03.43. Huff, Davila and Miles joined Dylan Carter on the 200 freestyle relay that took seventh in 1:46.76.

Miles finished sixth in the 50 freestyle in 24.75, and eighth in the 100 butterfly in 1:05.28.

The Decatur swimmers will head to the District 6-4A meet at the Denton Natatorium Jan. 25.
