The Slidell Greyhounds blasted out of the gate Tuesday, burying the Saint Jo Panthers early and never letting up.
Slidell poured in 27 points in the first quarter on its way to an 89-37 victory in the Pantherdome.
“We got off to a good start shooting the ball in the first quarter,” said Slidell coach Todd McCormick.
The Greyhounds (21-6) finished with 29 assists led by Isaac Davis, who handed out 12 as part of his triple double. Davis also scored 15 points and grabbed 16 rebounds.
Colton Perkins led the Greyhounds in scoring with 31 points. He also pulled down 15 boards. Tyler Maynard and Khristian Talamantes finished with 13 points each.
Slidell stretched a 27-10 first-quarter lead into a 50-16 halftime advantage. The Greyhounds continued to pull away in the third quarter, going on a 26-7 run.
