Cain Lowe lit up opposing defenses during the football season, scoring 22 touchdowns and racking up 1,538 yards receiving for the Decatur Eagles.
Thursday, the Decatur senior was honored by the Texas Sportswriters Association as a Class 3A first-team All-State selection at wide receiver.
Lowe, who was already a first-team 9-3A selection and Wise County’s Co-Offensive MVP, downplayed the latest honor.
“I didn’t do much. The lineman blocked and Grayson [Muehlstein] put the ball where it was needed. I just tried to catch it and run,” Lowe said. “I worked hard in practice and kept giving it my best effort.”
Lowe’s big season helped the Eagles to a 9-4 finish and a trip to the Class 3A Division I Region II semifinal.
“I’m glad how the season went. All the hard work before the season paid off,” Lowe said.
Lowe’s quarterback, Muehlstein, received honorable mention for the 3A squad. The recent TCU signee threw for 3,152 yards and 35 touchdowns.
