Lady ‘Jackets fall to fifth in 9-2A

By Richard Greene | Published Wednesday, February 5, 2014

The Boyd Lady Yellowjackets’ playoff hopes were put on the brink Friday.

Boyd got hammered on the road by second-ranked and District 9-2A leader Brock, 56-19, while Peaster topped Millsap 41-37. The results gave Peaster a game lead on Boyd at 5-7 going into the regular season finales Tuesday.

Boyd (14-9, 4-7) needed a win over Millsap Tuesday and a Peaster loss to Paradise to force a tiebreaker game with Peaster for the district’s final playoff berth.

Brock jumped on Boyd 22-4 in the first quarter and led 39-6 at halftime. Boyd managed only 13 points in the second half.

Amber Montgomery paced Boyd with eight points and four assists.
