By Richard Greene | Published Wednesday, January 22, 2014

The Slidell Lady Greyhounds kept momentum building heading into Tuesday’s showdown with Saint Jo for the District 21-A Division II lead with a thrashing of Forestburg.

Kylie Franklin and Caitlin Pruett scored 12 points each in the Lady Greyhounds’ 42-27 victory on homecoming night.

Pruett added nine rebounds and three steals.

Slidell (13-6, 7-1) limited their opponent to 11 first-half points, building a 28-11 lead at the break.

“Defensively, we were good in the first half. I don’t remember seeing anyone get out of position,” said Slidell coach Cody Vanover. “We had some lapses blocking out in the second half against a bigger team which left them hanging around in the game.”

Slidell and Saint Jo each headed into Tuesday’s game at 7-1 in the league. After Tuesday, the Lady Greyhounds have three regular season games remaining.
