Johnson receives first-team spot

Taylor Johnson led the Northwest Texans in scoring and rebounding on the way to a 23-win campaign.

Johnson averaged 15.8 points and 5.4 rebounds. He also averaged 2.3 assists and 1.5 steals.

For his efforts, he earned a spot on the District 4-5A first team. Johnson was one of three Texans to receive district honors.

Northwest senior point guard Josh Tatum joined Johnson on the first team after averaging 5.7 assists to go along with 11 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.8 steals.

Elijah Christman earned a second-team selection. Christman averaged 14.8 points and five rebounds.
