Northwest freshman guard Alexus Brigham averaged 10 points and four steals this season for the Lady Texans, who were in the District 4-5A playoff hunt until the final game.

Brigham also grabbed four rebounds and handed out three assists per game.

The strong freshman campaign earned Brigham the nod as the district’s Newcomer of the Year.

Brigham was one of three Lady Texans to earn honors.

Senior post Bailey Porter made the first team. She averaged nine points and six rebounds.

The Lady Texans’ other senior post Brianna Barnhill made the second team after chipping in eight points and six boards per game.
