Katie Isham led a trio of Lady Eagles in double figures Friday as Decatur maintained a share of the District 9-3A lead with a win over Sanger.
Isham poured in 17 points and grabbed five rebounds in the 59-53 victory.
Decatur (18-4) moved to 3-1 in the league and remained tied with Gainesville and Krum for first place.
“We need to keep doing what we’re doing and continue to get better,” said Decatur coach Billy Garner.
The Lady Eagles jumped out to a lead and had to fight off Sanger throughout the night.
“Their pressure hurt us a bit,” Garner said.
When Decatur was able to get into its half-court set, they took advantage of their size inside with Isham and Shelby Drews. Drews added 14 points, five rebounds and five steals.
“We had some looks at the back end of the pressure when we got the ball across,” Garner said.
Murphy Graham chipped in 13 points, nine rebounds and six assists.

Gainesville jumped out to a 37-24 halftime lead and then put the clamps on the Sissies in the second half. Gainesville held Bridgeport to 15 points in the second half, including five in the third quarter.
Lauren Stowers paced the Sissies with 19 points. Gabby Mindieta added six with seven rebounds.
“Our ladies did a quality job attacking offensively,” said Bridgeport coach Dallas Taylor. “We must finish scoring opportunities.

Bridgeport hoped to rebound Tuesday at Krum. They will be off Friday.
