PONDER 73, BOYD 34

The Boyd Yellowjackets found no answers for the Ponder Lions in the first half Friday.

Ponder poured in 41 points in 16 minutes on the way to a 73-34 win over the Yellowjackets.

The Lions, ranked fourth in Class 2A, went on a 20-5 run in the second quarter to build a 41-15 halftime lead.

“The second quarter killed us,” said Boyd coach Oscar Hernandez. “They settled in and played tough defense. We shot a bunch of 3s early.”

Trace Moran led Boyd with 12 points.

BROCK 81, PARADISE 26

The top-ranked Brock Eagles maintained a share of the 9-2A lead with an 81-26 dismantling of the Paradise Panthers Friday.

Paradise fell to 2-4 in the league.

PEASTER 87, ALVORD 26

The sixth-ranked Peaster Greyhounds eased by Alvord Friday.

Alvord went into Tuesday against Boyd, looking for its first victory in District 9-2A.
