Thanks from Young’s family

This year the first Eighter from Decatur BBQ Challenge and Washer Tournament was held Saturday, May 31, with proceeds going to WARM and the Roy Young Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Special thanks to the BBQ Challenge and Washer Tournament committee for volunteering your time, resources and your hearts to make this the success it was.

A huge thanks goes to the sponsors for their generosity and to the community volunteer food judges and the washer teams who came to participate. We appreciate you giving your time to support this event.

Thank you, WC Challenger Charities, for your vision and giving spirits to support Wise County charities and agencies, and the military heroes. What started 11 years ago with the J.W. Hart PBR Challenge, has grown into a weekend of something for everybody – and in the end, Wise County and military heroes are the big winners.

The Celebrity Steer Riding was a great addition to an exciting night and an added boost for some local charities. The 1,000 Miles Till Home Hero 5K was added on Saturday as well.

Thanks go to all the organizers, teams and individual participants for their support of the wounded warriors.

“Wise County is a great place to call home.”

We sincerely thank each of you, for all you do, to make that statement possible.
