Letter carrier food drive a success

By Glenn Webb | Published Wednesday, May 14, 2014

The Decatur letter carriers and Post Office would like to say, “Thanks a ton!” to Decatur citizens for their support of our annual food drive.

Your donations mean that children who normally receive lunches at school will not go without during the summer months while school is out. City and rural customers donated 2,481 pounds of food to benefit the Wise Area Relief Mission (WARM).

With all the generous support we received from the community, more than 1 ton of food was collected for needy citizens in our area. Thanks to all who gave.

Special thanks also to the publisher of this newspaper for the advertising space, and to Lowe’s Grocery, Wal-mart, and Lowe’s Home Improvement, who donated bags.
