Family grateful for kindness in mother’s loss

By C. Dale King, Greg King, Melissa McElhaney and families | Published Saturday, August 2, 2014

We lost our wife and mother, Sherry King, on July 10. Despite months in the hospital we still were not prepared for our loss; today and always, like so many, we wish we had just one more day.

But in retrospect, we have an abundance of blessings that is without measure and is invaluable. Our family, friends and neighbors showed us God’s grace and helped carry us when we were weak. We had neighbors who mowed our lawns while we sat in the hospital and sent food when we were too tired to prepare. We had prayers, encouraging Facebook posts, cards, flowers, hugs, love and shared tears. You gave us strength and let us know we were not alone.

Our family is closer, our friends are dearer, our faith is stronger, and we have a renewed vision of how wonderful our community is. Our pride in family, faith and community could not be stronger.

Thanks to all the health care professionals, doctors, nurses, funeral directors and so many of our loving family and friends who gave us grace, wisdom and support to guide us during this difficult time. We are forever grateful, humbled and blessed by the beauty of your love and support. May God bless you all.

With sincere gratitude,
C. Dale King, Greg King, Melissa McElhaney and families
