The Runaway Bay city council will soon have a new member.

At its meeting Tuesday, the council will appoint someone to fill the vacancy created when councilwoman Kay Simmons resigned.

According to City Secretary Oneta Berghoefer, Simmons has moved outside the city limits and is no longer eligible to hold office.

Also at the meeting, the council will review a bid received for repair and stabilizing the slope failure in Marina Road.

The council will also review minutes, financials, accounts payable, activity reports, journal entries and code enforcement report.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m., and will be held at City Hall, 101 Runaway Bay Drive.
