Police seek car burglars

Burglars struck vehicles at two different Decatur nursing homes earlier this week.

Decatur Police Chief Rex Hoskins said the windows of three vehicles were broken at Senior Care Health and Rehabilitation at 701 Bennett Rd. during the overnight hours, Sunday into Monday. Two purses and a wallet were stolen.

Hoskins said the vehicles belonged to employees of the facility and were parked behind the building.

During the same time frame, two vehicles at The Hills Nursing and Rehabilitation at 201 East Thompson St. were also broken into and similar items were taken.

In both cases, no witnesses saw any suspects, and no surveillance video was available. No suspects have been named at this time.
