Northwest ISD employees will get a raise next year.
At its meeting Tuesday, the school board approved a compensation plan that includes a 3-percent increase from the midpoint of each paygrade for the 2014-2015 school year.
The pay hike increases the budget by $3,231,000.
The change will increase the new hire pay scale by $1,650, establishing the starting salary for a new teacher at $50,150 for the 2014-15 school year.
Last year, trustees approved a 2-percent pay hike for its employees, including Superintendent Karen Rue.
Also at the meeting, the board restructured its own leadership in the wake of the May 10 elections. Board president is Josh Wright, vice president is Mark Schluter and secretary is Devonna Holland.
