Officers were dispatched to an alarm call at the Sonic restaurant on Chico Highway around 2:30 Tuesday morning.

When they arrived, they found the front glass door shattered and a man inside making himself a milkshake and cooking two hamburgers, Bridgeport Assistant Police Chief Steve Stanford said.

Jonathan Gideon, 24, was arrested for burglary of a building.

Officers also found a handful of Sonic-brand peppermints, as well as a prepaid Sonic gift card, in his pocket.

Gideon was taken to the Wise County Jail. As he was being booked in, Stanford said “he became disruptive and combative and had to be pepper-sprayed.”

His bond has been set at $5,000.
