Doctor’s office open in Bridgeport

By Bob Buckel | Published Wednesday, July 30, 2014

A physician’s office in Decatur that was closed July 11 is open and seeing patients in Bridgeport four days a week.

A story in the weekend Messenger stated that Dr. Chad Stephens’ office, North Texas Spine and Sport, on Medical Center Drive in Decatur had been closed, with an eviction notice posted on the door.

Two other physicians who had also shared the office had their new addresses posted on the door, but no new contact information was posted for NTSS.

Dr. Scott Hrnack, an orthopedic surgeon, is seeing patients at Wise Family Practice and Urgent Care, 800 Medical Center Drive. Dr. Saritha Dodla, a cardiologist, has moved her practice to 1713 S. FM 51, above the offices of Dr. Wade McKenna and Dr. Christian Helm.

The Messenger has since learned that Dr. Stephens’ practice opened an office in Bridgeport Monday, July 14, after being closed the previous Friday with no prior notice.

“We were told at 2:13 p.m. that everything had to be out that evening, and our employees worked until 2 a.m. moving things out,” said practice administrator Lynette Clowers. “Our phone service was also interrupted due to the sudden move, and we worked diligently with CenturyLink to have them forwarded so we could retrieve our messages.”

The NTSS phone number remains the same at 940-627-6201. Clowers said patients may leave messages, and calls will be returned.

Dr. Stephens, who is out of the country this week on a medical mission, said his primary concern was for his patients and the primary care physicians who refer to him.

“I am sorry for any inconvenience to my patients as a result of the unexpected disruption of my practice,” he said. “I began seeing patients in the Bridgeport Hospital medical office building the next business day after the disruption occurred, to provide continuity for my Wise County patients.”

North Texas Spine and Sport specializes in pain management through both medication and minimally invasive surgical procedures, as well as the treatment and prevention of sports-related injuries.

The new, albeit still temporary, office is at 1903 Doctors Hospital Drive, No. 33 in Bridgeport. Dr. Stephens is seeing patients there Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Clowers said they hope to move the office into permanent quarters in the same building in the near future.

Dr. Stephens also has an office in Keller at Fort Worth Brain and Spine, where he is seeing patients Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He continues to hold staff privileges at Wise Regional Health System and does procedures there regularly.

“My patients’ health and wellness are paramount in the reasons I came to Wise County to practice, and I continue to appreciate the loyalty of my patients and referral doctors,” Dr. Stephens said.

The Keller office is located at 4400 Heritage Trace Parkway, Suite 204.
