Two men were injured in a head-on collision in a quiet neighborhood near Decatur Wednesday.
Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Brandon Gunnells, 44, of Springtown was transported by ground ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. He became trapped in his vehicle after the crash and had to be extricated.
Douglas Stutt, 47, of Paradise was taken to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur.
Trooper Adolfo Patterson said both were conscious and alert at the scene.
Investigators believe Stutt was southbound on Acorn Drive in a white pickup when he attempted to move over after he saw the northbound SUV, driven by Gunnells. Stutt drove off the roadway, overcorrected and started to spin before striking the SUV head-on.
Decatur Fire Department, Wise County medics and sheriff’s deputies responded to the accident, which happened around 11:30 a.m.
Acorn Drive is located in the Seven Wires addition west of Decatur.
