Wayne E. Tate, 77, a retired cross-country truck driver, died Sunday, July 27, 2014, in Bridgeport.
Funeral was July 29 at the First Baptist Church in Alvord with the Rev. Bill Cleveland officiating. Burial followed at Alvord Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeff Tate, Kyle Tate, Garland Tate, Jeremy Tate, Marcus Tate and Chris Tate.
Wayne was born Sept. 21, 1936, in Jacksonville to Roy and Doris (James) Tate. He married Katherine Fleming Aug. 25, 1962, in Borger.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine; and his brother, Merle Tate.
Survivors include his sons, Marcus Tate of Alvord, Garland Tate and wife, Sharon, of Fort Worth and Chris Tate and wife, Isabelle, of Plano; grandchildren Crystal Manjarres, Kyle Tate, Jeff Tate, Jeremy Tate, Kennedy Tate, Andrew Tate and Kevin Tate; great-grandchildren Alyssa, Luisanthony, Samantha and Elija; brother Leroy Tate and wife, Bea, of Odessa; and other family members and friends.
