Teddy H. Johnson, 80, a retired mail carrier, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2014, in Decatur.
Funeral was Jan. 17 at Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport with the Rev. Bill “Moe” Moore officiating. Burial followed at Chico Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Aden Johnson, Jason Johnson, Jeff Johnson, Cody Johnson, Rusty Johnson and Adam Johson. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Johnson, Patrick Johnson and Lance Edgar.
Teddy was born May 15, 1933, in Chico to Arthur and Grace (Hunter) Johnson. He served his country in the U.S. Army and married Erma “Faye” Vaughn May 29, 1965, in Chico. He was retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Teddy was a lifetime member of the NRA and enjoyed fishing and raising Duroc pigs.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Faye Vaughn Johnson; and his brother, Roland Johnson.
He is survived by his son, Rex Johnson and wife, Keilly, of Chico; daughter Sheliah Potter of Chico; grandchildren Ethyn Johnson, Shelley Cameron and Wesley Moody; brothers Perry Johnson and wife, Pat, of Chico and Larry Johnson of Jacksboro; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
