Rodney D. McCoy

Rodney D. McCoy, 68, died Tuesday, May 6, 2014, in Arlington.

Funeral is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 10, at Morris Memorial United Methodist Church in Chico with Pastor Rick Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Chico Cemetery under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home in Bridgeport.

Pallbearers are Russell McCoy, Reagan McCoy, Ryan D. McCoy, Jimmy Fahnestock, Allen Broyles and Steven Standefer.

Rodney was born June 1, 1945, in College Station to Dr. Turney and Faye (Gurley) McCoy. He married Rose Mary Martin April 24, 1966, in Ardmore, Okla., and was owner and operator of Mac’s Automotive and R&M Trophies. He proudly served his country in the United Stated Army Air National Guard.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Rose Mary Martin McCoy of Arlington; sons Russell Duwayne McCoy of Spring, Ryan D. McCoy and wife, Janelle, of Portland, Ore., and Reagan Daniel McCoy of Los Angeles; grandchildren Logan McCoy, Katie McCoy and Emma Rose McCoy; sister Susan Voigt and husband, Peter, of Garland; niece Vanessa Voigt Stephens of Garland; and other family members and friends.
