Norma Lee Montgomery Coble

Norma Lee Montgomery Coble, 84, of Runaway Bay died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2014, in Fort Worth.

Graveside memorial service is 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas. The Rev. Bill Sparks of Mission Hospice will officiate.

Norma was born April 27, 1929, in Watauga, Okla., to Virgil and Edna (Stevenson) Montgomery. She married Roy Lee “Pee Wee” Coble May 10, 1947, in Amarillo. Norma was the office manager for the Runaway Bay Chamber of Commerce and a member of the First Baptist Church of Runaway Bay and the American Camping Association.

She generously gave her time volunteering for several organizations, including Camp Fire Girls. The community of Runaway Bay honored Norma by naming the civic center after her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Roy Lee “Pee Wee” Coble; brother Gene Sions; sisters Joy Brandley and Rose Hart; and her daughter-in-law, Shirley Coble.

She is survived by her daughter, Leighan Cupples and husband, Phil, of Mansfield; her sons, Lynn Roy Coble of Arlington and Dennis Coble and wife, Denise, of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Anita Steinle of Runaway Bay; brother Walter Montgomery of Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
