Lowell Bland Hughes Jr., 83, died Saturday, May 3, 2014.
Funeral was May 10 at Mount Olivet Chapel in Fort Worth, and burial followed at Sunset Cemetery.
Lowell was born June 9, 1930, in Snow Hill, W. Va., to Lowell and Ruth Ann Hughes. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1966 after 20 years of service. After his military service, Lowell was an electrician with AMCOT.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Esther; grandson Heath Ray Owens; sister Shelba Jean Young; and brother Eugene Hughes.
Survivors include sons Lowell B. Hughes III and wife, Juliette, and Wesley D. Hughes and wife, Debbie; daughters Teresa L. Cox and husband, Steve, Michelle D. Long and husband, Tom, and Thera L. “Teri” Owens and husband, Tommy; brothers Ronny Thomas, Jack Hughes and Lee Leason; sister Dorothy Dusseau; grandchildren Tony Sharer, L.B. Hughes IV, Stacy Privett, Patrick Cox, Tomorrow Long, Taber Long, Rendon Long, Heather Carson, Cole Hughes and Melody Hughes; and great-grandchildren Scout Sharer, Zachary Sharer and Everleigh Privett.
