Lou Etta Armstrong, 91, of Paradise, died Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, in Decatur.
Funeral was Feb. 28 at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Mark Stevens and Glenn Waldon officiating. Burial was at Paradise Cemetery.
Lou Etta was born June 17, 1922, in Bridgeport to Bertie (Anderson) and Albert Tackel. She loved to read and crochet and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers and NASCAR. She enjoyed spending time with her family and playing cards.
She is survived by her son, James Ray Armstrong; daughter Joyce Smith and husband, Rick; sisters Dean Beaty and Audrey Russell; grandchildren Landon Smith and wife, Ashley, Dr. Heath Smith and wife, Andrea, Chance Smith and fiance , Tasha, Richard Coomer and Alisha Fennell; great-grandchildren Colin, Landry, Harper, Kyle and Blake; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Porter Armstrong; her parents; brothers William, Glenn, Roy and Ray Tackel; sister Ann Caruthers; and great-granddaughter Emma Smith.
