Jerry Allan Taylor, 64, of Alvord, died Thursday, April 24, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, April 28, at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with Doug Moreland and Don Singleton officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, one hour prior to the service.
Pallbearers will be James Simpson, Paul Taylor, Rusty Coleman, Chris Lutenbaker, Rocky Blaylock and Terry Seville.
Jerry was born Jan. 9, 1950, in Muleshoe to Howard Truitt and Julia Belle (Faubus) Taylor. He moved to Alvord in 1969. He was a truck driver for 20 years for Sandy Hill Readi-Mix in Decatur and was a member of the Wise County Cowboy Church. His hobbies included farming and watching his grandkids play sports.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jolene Taylor; father Howard Taylor; stepfather Pat Patterson; and grandmother Ella Faubus.
He is survived by sons Scotty Taylor and wife, Tonya, of Sanger, and Mike Taylor of Midland; daughter Michelle Thomas and husband, Kenny, of Bridgeport; brothers Wayne Taylor and Don Taylor; and grandchildren Samantha McDaniel of Chico, Daylie Taylor of Sanger, Dusty Taylor of Callisburg, Haylea McDaniel of Decatur, Kelsey Taylor of Graham, Josh Thomas of Bridgeport and McKinley Taylor of Graham.
