Jay Fred McQuinn, 60, of Bridgeport, died Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, surrounded by family and friends.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at East Mound Church of Christ in Bridgeport.
Fred was born Jan. 23, 1954, in Dallas to Vernon Terrell McQuinn and Freda Kasner McQuinn. He graduated from Bridgeport High School in 1972 and worked at TXI for 37 years.
He enjoyed playing Monopoly and croquet with his cousins, investing in and watching the stock market and always making others laugh.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Paulette Brown McQuinn; and sister Dee Ola McQuinn.
He is survived by his daughter, Cassandra McQuinn Brown, and her spouse, T.L. Brown, of The Colony; grandchildren, Daija Brown, Tierra Brown and Jace Brown; nephew Lawrence York and his daughter, Kassi York, of Bridgeport; former spouse and special friend Debra Doty Callaway of Carrollton; and many loving cousins, friends, co-workers and extended family.
He was a father and grandfather at heart to Missy Brown Martinez, Candace Martinez, Chelsey Edwards Skiles and Adrianna Murphy.
