Ila Sue Reed, 90, of Decatur, died Monday, June 2, 2014, in Decatur.
Funeral is 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with burial at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.
Pallbearers are Wayne Boydston, Kip Boydston, Bobby Washburn, Randy Washburn, Blake Sandford and Shawn Burton.
Sue was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Slidell to Edgar Willard and Violet (Moser) Burton. She graduated business school in Fort Worth, which is where she met her husband, Gaylon E. Reed. They were married Jan. 22, 1946, in Fort Worth, and he preceded her in death in 2011 after their 65th wedding anniversary.
Sue enjoyed playing golf with the ladies at Decatur Country Club. She loved her children, her church, and always laughed easily.
Survivors include her daughters, Merlene Walker and husband, Steve Gold, of Arlington, Sharon Manfred and husband, Bob, of Grand Junction, Colo., and Rayelynn Dady and husband, Glenn, of Dallas; son Craig Reed and wife, Rose, of Decatur; grandchildren Amanda, Nathan, Rachel, Andrea, Wendy, Chris, Brent and Tyler; 15 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister Billie Borgman of Fort Worth; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers; and a sister.
Memorials can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church in Decatur and the American Heart Association.
