Gerald Ralph Upchurch, 71, a retired truck driver, died Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, in Decatur.
Funeral is 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with the Rev. Boshman Upchurch and Donny Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Old Hall Cemetery in Lewisville.
Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Ed Atkinson, David Upchurch, Jake Upchurch, Randy Upchurch, Jeffrey Pirtle, Daniel Gullion, Cameron Sanderson and Chad Best.
Gerald was born Jan. 6, 1943, in Lewisville to Ralph and Mary Lois (Brown) Upchurch. He married Alveda Ramsey Sept. 21, 1963, in Ardmore, Okla.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Alveda Upchurch of Rhome; sons Mike Upchurch and wife, Brenda, of Haslet and Hank Glenn Upchurch and wife, Rhonda, of Boyd; mother Mary Lois Upchurch; grandchildren Michael Upchurch and wife, Faith, of Aurora, Boshman Upchurch of Haslet, Brittany Placek and husband, Justin, of Decatur and Keisha Foster and husband, Kyler, of Aurora; four great-grandchildren; sisters Elaine Helsley, Frieda Wilt, Liz Whale, Sharon Sanderson and Justine Stogsdill; brothers Charles and Paul Upchurch; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Gerald was preceded in death by his father.
