Edna Mae Koch, 76, died Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, in Fort Worth.
Memorial service is 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the VFW Hall in Bowie, under the direction of Lucas Funeral Home of Hurst.
Edna was born Aug. 21, 1937, in Frame, W.Va., to Katherine and Clifton Shafer. She married Orville Koch Nov. 20, 1954, in Fayetteville, W.Va., and was a devoted military wife for his 22 years of service to his country before starting her own career. She worked as a beautician for 15 years, then worked as a quality control inspector for Boeing Electronics Division for 11 years.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents and Janet Kennimer (Shafer).
Survivors include her husband, Orville Koch; children Angela and Terry Scott, Duane and Karla Koch and Mia and Brian Kile; siblings Steve Shaffer, Jack Shafer, Sheila Brown (Shafer), Jerry Shafer, Johnny Shafer and Marilyn Jennings (Shafer); grandchildren Leigha Scott, Lee Scott, Caitlin Koch, Glen Bridgewaters III, Alex Koch, Erika Dower, Taylor Koch and Heather Thomas; and great-grandchildren Allie Scott and Kamdyn Scott.
