Earl Smith

Earl Smith, 75, died Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, in Decatur.

Funeral is 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 3, at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur with burial at Pleasant Grove Cemetery No. 1. Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Earl was born Dec. 17, 1938, in Durant, Okla., to Joseph Delbert and Frieda Roseman (Green) Smith. He retired from Bell Helicopter Textron as a wood pattern maker after 37 years of service. Earl served in the U.S. Army.

Survivors include sons, Robert Earl Smith of Decatur, Charles Warren Smith of Red Oak and Jeffery Wayne Smith of Keller; daughter Sylvia Joanne Hayden of Leander; granddaughters Stacey Michelle Clemmens of North Richland Hills, Charlotte Raquel Hayden and Chelsi Anne Schuneman, both of Leander, Logan Whitney Smith of Arlington, Christina Yvonne Butterworth of Hurst, Sara Gardner of Dallas and Casi Kruse Thorne of Red Oak; grandsons Dakota Jordan Smith of Dallas, Bobby Ray Hayden III of Leander, Kevin Kruse of Red Oak and Eric Elson of Keller; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Yvonne Smith.
