Billy John Fain, 72, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, in Denton.
Funeral was Feb. 4 at the Carter Lake Church of Christ of Bowie, with burial at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
B.J. was born Oct. 28, 1941, in Bowie to William and Mary (Langford) Fain. Along with his brothers, he had owned and operated Fain Brothers Welding Co. since 1973.
B.J. also worked in the maintenance department for Hanson Aggregates in Chico for many years.
He enjoyed pawn shopping, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren. B.J. was a great support to his family and friends and was a member of the Carter Lake Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Francis Fain; son Lee Wayne Fain; brothers Cowboy, James, Freddie and Charlie Fain and sister Doris Newport.
B.J. is survived by his children, Patrick Fain and wife, Gina of Spanish Fort, and Charity Fain and husband, Matthew Goddard of Portland, Ore.; grandchildren Tyler Hammons and wife, Brittany, Danica and Dylan Fain, all of Spanish Fort; Kaya and Lucas Goddard of Portland, Ore., and Logun Reaves of Denton; great-grandson Lundyn Hammons of Spanish Fort; brother Sam Fain of Springtown; sister Sue Whitaker of Ringgold; and numerous nieces and nephews.
