4-H and FFA members planning to enter a steer in a major livestock show in Texas must have them validated, and the Wise County Validation Committee has set a date for the state steer validation.

Steer validation will be held 8 a.m. to noon and 4:30 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 19, at the Decatur Livestock Barn located at 2473 N. FM 51.

State Fair sheep, goats and swine will be validated 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, June 26, at the Wise County Fairgrounds.

Anyone who plans to enter a sheep, goat or hog at the State Fair of Texas is required to have them validated on this date.

If you have questions regarding any of the upcoming 4-H deadlines and events, call the Extension office at 940-627-3341.
