PURCHASE DELAYED — Pending review of an itemized list of projects, the Bridgeport City Council postponed a request to purchase two off-highway vehicles for the city’s OHV Park at a regular council meeting Tuesday. The vehicles would be paid for with funds from a Texas Parks and Wildlife National Recreational Trails grant. But the grant was also to be spent on perimeter fencing, signage and hand tools. “I don’t want us to come up short on something or need something more important,” Mayor Keith McComis told parks department personnel. “I’d really like to see some kind of organizational plan on how you plan to spend the money.”

POSITIVE AUDIT — The Chico City Council last night received a clean audit report at its regular monthly meeting. In other business, the council approved a part-time position in the water and sewer department, renewed the city’s franchise agreement with Oncor and took no action on a street reconstruction project.
