HOSPITAL CASE AT COURT – Representatives from North Texas Community Hospital in Bridgeport will be in federal bankruptcy court in Fort Worth this morning where details are expected to emerge on how money transferred from bondholders will be used to keep the hospital’s doors open until the completed sale to Wise Regional Health System. STREET PROJECTS MOVE FORWARD – The Chico City Council last night approved the general services agreement and the task order with KSA Engineers to begin street projects throughout the town. East Jacksboro, East Decatur, Flower Lane, South Hovey, South Buffalo, Blanton, Church and College will be completely repaved. Drainage improvements will also alleviate “pooling” issues that occur after rain at the intersection of Blanton and Weatherford streets. Construction is expected to start around June 1.

CANCER SURVIVORS – Local cancer survivors and caregivers are encouraged to register with Relay For Life of Wise County. Those registered will be invited to a dinner Thursday, April 18, and will be honored during opening ceremonies of the all-night walking event Friday, May 17. FOOD BANK BENEFIT – Empty Bowls Fort Worth: An Artful Taste to End Hunger fundraiser benefiting the Tarrant Area Food Bank and its more than 300 partner charities, including food pantries in Wise County, is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 28, at the Texas Hall inside Amon G. Carter Exhibition Hall at Will Rogers Memorial Center, 3401 W. Lancaster in Fort Worth. The event includes a live auction of celebrity bowls signed by famous entertainers; soups and desserts by favorite area chefs; 2,500 pottery, ceramic, china, glass and wood bowls for keepsakes; a raffle; a silent auction; and entertainment. Tickets – $45 for general admission or $125 for VIP, which allows entrance to the event a half-hour early along with corporate sponsors – are available at www.tafb.org, at www.facebook.com/EmptyBowls FortWorth or by calling (817) 332-9177 until 4 p.m. Monday, March 25. Each dollar spent at Empty Bowls funds five meals served by the food bank.

GOSPEL SING-FEST – Trinity Baptist Church in Boyd will hold Gospel Sing-Fest 5-7 p.m. Saturday including Fellowship Road, Earley Praises, The Ambassador Trio, Homer Belcher and The Pathfinder Quartet. Free snack fellowship will follow.
