BUNDLE UP – The coldest air of the season moved into Wise County early this morning. The temperature at 7:45 a.m. was 42 degrees in Decatur, and the temperature is expected to remain around 42 for the remainder of the day. A freeze warning will be in effect from 9 tonight to 10 a.m. Wednesday. The temperature is expected to drop below freezing before midnight and drop into the mid-20s overnight. Freezing temperatures can kill sensitive plants, and residents are advised to protect tender vegetation. Automatic sprinklers should also be turned off to avoid creating ice patches on roads and sidewalks. Outdoor pets may also need additional protection.

LADY EAGLES VOLLEYBALL – The Decatur Lady Eagles regional quarterfinal game tonight against Argyle will be played at Byron Nelson High School in Trophy Club beginning at 7. A send-off rally will be held at 4 at the high school.

COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION – Governor’s Ridge and Angels Care Home Health will host the sixth in a series of community education sessions 10:30 to 11:30 Thursday at Governor’s Ridge, 300 E. CARDS IN THE PARK – Bridgeport Parks and Rec’s seventh annual Christmas Cards in the Park will be displayed Friday, Nov. 22, through Monday, Jan. 6, in Harwood Park. There is no fee, and it is open to everyone on a first-come, first-serve basis. Call 940-683-3480 for more information.

DHS GOLF TOURNAMENT – DHS Golf Booster Club Tournament is Nov. 23 at The Club at Runaway Bay. Cost is $400 per four-person team and includes mulligans, lunch and door prizes. Registration begins at 10 a.m., shotgun start at 12:30. All proceeds benefit the DHS golf teams. BLOOD DRIVE – The City of Bridgeport will host a blood drive 12:30-4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Council Chambers at City Hall. SCV MEETING – The Sons of Confederate Veterans will meet at the Wesley Center of the First United Methodist Church in Decatur at 7 tonight. Joe Goodwin will present a program on fracking.

PTO FALL FEST – Alvord Elementary PTO will hold their annual Fall Fest 1-4 p.m. Saturday in the Elementary School Gym. CENTER CLOSED FOR TRAINING – Wise Hope Crisis Center will be closed today for staff training. It will re-open at 9 a.m. Wednesday. The 24-hour hotline can be reached at 940-626-4855. In case of an emergency, call 911.

CHICO CITY COUNCIL – The Chico City Council tonight will consider a couple of items dealing with the grant the city recently received for a water filtration project including a contract for grant administrative services and appointing an engineering selection committee. Items dealing with Phase 1 and 2 of the city’s paving project is also included on the agenda. The meeting is at 7 p.m.

FUNERALS – Service for Kyle “Tooter” Fletcher, 90, of Slidell is 2 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Slidell with burial at Slidell Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home in Decatur.

GRAVESIDE service for Paul Dean Ahlfield, 69, of Alvord is 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Abilene. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins.

FUNERAL for Zenna Mae Rice, 96, of Alvord is 2 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Alvord with burial at Alvord Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Coker-Hawkins.

NO SERVICE is scheduled for Dean Phillip Hoke, 50, of Fort Worth. Coker-Hawkins is handling arrangements.

MEMORIAL service for Billie E. Linden Bowers, 81, of Plano is 10 a.m. Saturday at New Life Family Worship Center in Grapevine. Christian-Hawkins Funeral Home in Boyd is handling arrangements.

FUNERAL for Ruth Lingle, 77, of Springtown is 2 p.m. today at White’s Funeral Home Springtown Chapel with burial at Springtown Cemetery. She was the mother of Wilma Melendez of Chico.

GRAVESIDE service for Modena Inez Ballard, 78, of Poolville is 2 p.m. Wednesday at Gibtown Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 tonight at White’s Funeral Home in Weatherford. She was the grandmother of Tiffany Harrison of Runaway Bay.
