MEASLES ALERT – Tarrant County has reported 10 cases of measles this year, and two are from northern Tarrant County. Denton County has also reported two cases of measles this year. In the northern Tarrant County cases, one person contracted measles after traveling abroad and returning, and the other case is a child relative of that patient. Multiple Metroplex media outlets reported the outbreak can be traced to a member of Eagle Mountain International Church in Newark. Since the virus is highly contagious, health officials are warning the public to be on the lookout for possible cases. Symptoms include a reddish rash, high fever, cough, runny nose and watery eyes. There have not been any reports of measles in Wise County.
