TANK TRUCK ROLLOVER — Emergency responders used jaws of life to free a man pinned in an 18-wheeler after he rolled it last night in Park Springs. Clayton B. McNabb, 59, was flown from the scene to Harris Methodist in Fort Worth for serious injuries. McNabb was hauling a full tank truck when he hit a curve in the road on Texas 101 too fast. The northbound truck rolled and landed almost upside down in a ditch. No other vehicles were involved. The wreck happened at 10:30, and the road was shut down for more than two hours during extrication and clean up. Alvord and Chico fire departments, Wise County Medics and Texas DPS responded.
MURDER INDICTMENT — A Decatur man accused of killing his mother in May has been indicted for murder by a Wise County grand jury, according to records that became available for public viewing this week. Kirk Heithecker, 49, is accused of killing his 75-year-old mother, Nancy Heithecker, at the home they shared at 710 County Road 4270 south of Decatur sometime over Mother’s Day weekend. He remains in the Wise County Jail with bond set at $1 million.
LUNCH-TIME CLOSING — The office of Precinct 3 Justice of the Peace Mandy Hays will be closed 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today for training.
BLOOD DRIVE — Wal-Mart associates are sponsoring a blood drive 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday at Wal-Mart in Decatur.
OFFICE CLOSING — WARM will be closed the entire week of July 22-26. Schedule donation drop-off or food pickup the week prior or the week after.
ANIMALS AT THE LIBRARY — The Decatur Public Library Summer Reading Club presents Zooniversity 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16. The Summer Reading Club is a free program open to children of all ages. Call the library at (940) 393-0290 for more information.
STORYTIME IN CHICO — Children are invited to attend storytime with Ms. Grace 11 a.m.-noon today at the Chico Public Library. Children will hear stories of Ireland and farming and enjoy making their own snack. The Tween/Teen Mexican Folk Art session has been rescheduled for 1-2 p.m. Friday. Participants will make tin ornaments.

FUNERALS — Service for Dene Moody, 78, of Newcastle is 10 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel at Jones Family Funeral Home in Bridgeport with burial at Jim Ned Cemetery. Family visitation is 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
