FOOTBALL PLAYOFFS BEGIN – Three Wise County football teams begin their playoff run tonight. Decatur will seek its first playoff win since 2005 when the Eagles take on Ranchview at Falcon Stadium in Lake Dallas. Boyd is making their 11th straight trip to the playoffs taking on Van Alstyne at Neal Wilson Athletic Complex in Flower Mound. Northwest has made the postseason in back-to-back seasons for the first time and will take on Arlington Lamar at Birdville Athletic Complex. All games begin at 7:30. The Wise County Messenger will provide live blogging from the Decatur game and will have scoring updates from the Boyd game. LADY EAGLES AT REGIONAL TOURNAMENT – The Decatur Lady Eagles volleyball team will play North Lamar at 8 tonight at Mesquite Poteet High School in Mesquite in the Class 3A Region II tournament. Scoring updates will be provided at WCMessenger.com/scores.
ID THEFT SUSPECT SOUGHT – Wise County Sheriff’s Office investigators are looking for information leading to the identity of the woman seen in images taken from security cameras in Sprint stores in Fort Worth and Irving. It is suspected that the female subject used a Wise County resident’s personal information to obtain four cell phones from these two Sprint locations. WISE COUNTY PLAY – Northwest ISD students and community members will perform “Far and Wide,” an original play produced by NISD, which tells the story of a young family who makes Wise County their home. Performances are 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow at Chisholm Trail Middle School (583 FM 3433 in Rhome). RENAMING CEREMONY – The Northwest ISD Board of Trustees, administrators and agricultural science department invite the community to celebrate the official renaming ceremony of the district’s agricultural science center 2 p.m. Sunday. The ag building is located at 1960 Texan Drive in Justin.
