STORMS POSSIBLE SATURDAY – While today is expected to be warm and sunny, Saturday might be a different story. The National Weather Service is calling for a 40 percent chance of thunderstorms Saturday and Saturday night. A few severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and large hail are expected. Today’s high is expected to reach 91 degrees. High temperatures Saturday and Sunday should reach the mid-80s.

CRUISE NIGHTS – Cruise Nights on the Courthouse Square in Decatur is 4-8 p.m. Saturday. Registration is 4-7 p.m., $10 per vehicle. For more information call (940) 627-6158.

COMPUTER CLASSES – Decatur Public Library will hold free computer classes in June on a variety of topics: Job Searching and Resume Building June 10, 10 a.m.-noon and June 11, 2-4 p.m.; Microsoft EXCEL June 10, 1-3 p.m.; and Microsoft WORD June 10, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Classes are limited in size. TORNADO VICTIMS BENEFIT – A benefit car wash will be held 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Chico Mart in Chico. Cash donations and toys will be collected to donate to the tornado victims in Granbury. Receipts will be available. Call Sherry Caldwell at (940) 644-2089.

ADOPT-A-FISHERMAN – The 22nd Annual Adopt-A-Fisherman Day is tomorrow on Lake Bridgeport at Wise County Park. The event is open to kids ages 1 to 16, and prizes will be given for the three heaviest fish in each age division. Tournament registration starts at 7:15 a.m., and fishing starts at 8. All fishermen must be signed in at Wise County Park Pavilion prior to starting to fish. Weigh-in ends at 11 a.m. Loaner fishing gear for kids will be available on site, as well as bait and life jackets. Kids will receive a free tournament T-shirt, and a free hot dog lunch will be served after weigh-in.

COLLEGE ENROLLMENT – The Weatherford College Wise County campus is still enrolling new and returning students for Summer 1 semester courses which begin Monday. CAR WASHES FOR CAMPS – The Teens of Grace car wash fundraiser for church camp is 9 a.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Grace Baptist Church, 600 S. Trinity St., in Decatur. ALSO, Cuba Road Church Youth will have a car wash 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday at Chicken Express in Bridgeport to raise money for an upcoming camp.

CHEER SIGN UPS – Paradise Pee Wee Cheer sign ups are 9 a.m.-noon Saturday June 1 and June 8 at Paradise Junior High Cafeteria. For information call Renda Deaton at (817) 304-1850.

CLEANING GREENHOUSE – The Decatur High School horticulture program will have a “clean the greenhouse” sale 8 a.m.-noon Saturday at the school greenhouse, located on top of the hill directly behind the school. Prices on hanging baskets, annuals, perennials and combination planters have been drastically reduced in order to empty the greenhouse for the summer.

CHAMBER GARAGE SALE – The Paradise Chamber of Commerce will have a garage sale fundraiser 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at the Paradise Event Center, 3074 Texas 114. Items include desks, file cabinets, coffee tables, a couch and chairs.

PARADISE CHAMBER – The Paradise Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon is noon Monday, June 3, at Paradise City Hall. Lunch, which costs $10 a plate, will be catered by Dos Chiles Grandes. WIZARD OF OZ – McCarroll Middle School presents “The Wizard of Oz” at 7 p.m. today and tomorrow at the Decatur High School Theatre. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. The play is directed by DHS senior Alex Carroll, and she is assisted by senior Marcus Pinon.

ANIMAL SHELTER APPRECIATION – Wise County Animal Shelter will host an appreciation day for all of its supporters 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday. There will be rabies shots for $10, games, face-painting, hot dogs, drinks and attendants are encouraged to bring their pets to have their photos made with them. Animals will be available for adoption. All local businesses, rescuers, adopters, volunteers and anyone else who has helped the shelter are invited.
