HOSPITAL MEETING DELAYED — Steve Summers, CEO of Wise Regional Health System, announced this morning that the scheduled meeting of the WRHS board at noon today had to be canceled. He said in a news release that following Monday’s meeting, in which the WRHS board learned that North Texas Community Hospital needed increased financial assistance to keep the facility open until its acquisition by WRHS was finalized, WRHS requested a response from counsel for the bond holders of NTCH. The requested response was not received in time for today’s meeting. “At such time as there is a meaningful conversation between Wise Regional Counsel and the Bond Holders Counsel, a future Wise Regional Board meeting could then be rescheduled with the agenda posted as required by law,” Summers said. NTCH CEO Max Ludeke told the board Monday that $1.5 million in cash is needed to meet the operating needs of the facility through around March 15. Today’s meeting was to consider financial alternatives.
