OFFICE CLOSING – The Decatur Housing Authority office will be closed Aug. 26 through Sept. 2 for management to attend training and for the Labor Day holiday.
VETERANS GROUP MEETING – The Wise County Veterans Group will meet for breakfast at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Runaway Bay Golf Club. All veterans are welcome.
QUILT SHOW – The Wise County Quilt Guild will have its 2013 show 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at the Bridgeport Community Center. There will be door prizes, a silent auction, bed turning, an antique sewing machine display, bake sale and country store, along with several vendors. Cost is $5. A preview, lecture and trunk show is 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. today. Cost is $15.
TECHNOLOGY DEPLOYMENT – Northwest ISD middle school students can pick up their Netbooks and high school students can pick up their Latitude tablets at their campus during the following dates and times: 1 to 5 p.m. today; and 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26. Students that are unable to pick up their device on these dates will receive their devices during the first two weeks of school.

COOKING CLASS – Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is hosting a Dinner Tonight Cooking School Thursday, Sept. 5, at Weatherford College Wise County. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. so participants can visit exhibits and vendors. (Space is still available for vendors.) The cooking school begins at 6 p.m. and will include the demonstration of three easy and nutritious menus that can be prepared in 30 minutes or less.
