The fire that gutted an abandoned home in Bridgeport Sunday afternoon is believed to be arson.

Authorities say a neighbor saw a woman pour liquid around the home in the 200 block of Second Street. A suspect has been detained, and the State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to investigate.

Lake Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Department assisted Bridgeport with the blaze, which was toned out about 3:30 p.m.
