Two women were flown to Metroplex hospitals and four more were injured after their 2005 Chevrolet Suburban failed to come to a stop at Farm Road 51 south and Texas 114.
Department of Public Safety Adolfo Patterson said Maria Mingura, 60, of Hollis, OK was northbound on Farm Road 51 when she drove straight through the Texas 114 intersection without stopping striking the steep embankment and sending her SUV straight up in the air and coming to rest in the open field facing north. The accident was reported around 9:45 p.m.
Mingura was flown by air ambulance to Harris Hospital in Fort Worth. The passenger, Cirenia Garcia, 37, also of Hollis, was lifted to JPS Hospital in Fort Worth.
Jesus Mingura was taken to Wise Regional Health System in Decatur along with three children in the accident. One passenger was not injured.
