Decatur’s Nicole Neighbors was joined on the elite track squad by Northwest’s Desiree Freier and Kiarra Simpson.

Neighbors finished fourth at the state meet in the 300 hurdles and seventh in the 100 hurdles. She finished second in both events at the Class 3A Region II Meet in Commerce.

Freier set a new state record in the Class 5A pole vault at the state meet on her way to her second state championship. She won silver her freshman year.

Simpson took seventh in the discus in Austin after taking second at the Region I Meet in Lubbock.

Selections for the all-state team are made by the TGCA Track and Field All-State Committee from nominations submitted by head coaches.
