Boyd recently landed three Lady Jackets on the Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A All-State softball team.
Savannah Foster, Britney Howard and Chandler Hammon all picked up honorable mention all-state.
Foster, a sophomore, was the District 9-2A Defensive MVP and the Messenger’s MVP. She had a .990 fielding percentage and only two runners attempted to steal on her all season.
Offensively, Foster batted .480 with 24 RBIs, three home runs and 15 stolen bases.
Howard led Boyd with a .542 average. She hit six home runs with 38 RBIs and scored 44 runs on her way to earning the Messenger’s Offensive MVP award. Howard also earned all-district honors for her play at shortstop.
Hammon was the District 9-2A Offensive MVP after finishing the season with a .470 average. She hit six home runs and 13 doubles.
